Sõir Day

Sõir Day is held in the yard of the Saatse Museum and introduces the Saatse area as the "cottage cheese nulk," where sõir, the traditional food of Setomaa, is brought to the forefront. On Sõir Day, one can learn how to prepare sõir cheese alongside the most renowned sõir makers. One can also eat sõir as well as other good Seto foods. For the first time this year, one can also get acquainted with local farms in the region on Sõir Day: dozens of farms will open their gates and invite you in for a visit. There is an exciting cultural program for the day and evening.
