Lõunalaagri hiking trail

The 1.8 km Lõunalaagri hiking trail is located in the former South Camp area of the Estonian Defence Forces. In the 1920s, an impressive military complex was built here where infantrymen trained in the summer. Even though there is nothing left of the buildings, the artificial lake, an old bridge, several foundation stones, and trenches still give a good impression of life at the time. Information boards also give an overview of those times. It is a worthy experience to see how quickly nature hides everything man-made.
On the shore of the artificial lake, you will find the State Forest Management Centre campfire site and a camping area. Near the information board, the hiking trail meets with the Laskevälja cycling trail.
