Travel to Setomaa

The Seto region is in the south-eastern corner of Estonia. The easiest way to get here is in your own car, allowing you to travel the region at your own leisure. But make sure you know where the fuel stations are located. The Seto region is 270 km from Tallinn, 85 km from Tartu, 240 km from Riga. It is about 50 km from Pskov to the Koidula border crossing and Pechory on the Russian side of the Seto region is 2 km from the border.

Bus connections to the largest settlements in the region are good. But keep in mind that not all routes are covered – there is no direct bus from Värska to Obinitsa, for example. For bus timetables, go to: www.tpilet.ee or www.peatus.ee.

Train connections allow cyclists to get to the Seto region conveniently. There are trains year-round from Tartu to Koidula station, with an additional stop to Piusa added in the summer. For train schedules, visit www.elron.ee or www.peatus.ee
